Following sell-out events across the UK since 2015, An Indian Summer is excited to bring one of Bollywood’s biggest productions, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, to Birmingham. A 20 square metre screen will be set up in the Golden Square, in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will be shown on Saturday 4th September at 6:00pm. For Individuals or groups (up to 6), guaranteed seating can be provided for a small reservation fee of £2.50 per person to ensure you have allocated space on the day (via Eventbrite). (If tickets for seats are sold out, people can still stand or sit close by.)
But that’s not all.
Event-goers can tuck into delicious Indian street food from local, independent vendors and also enjoy live performances from international dance and entertainment icon Shiamak.
Midlands-based arts, events and production enterprise Inspirate, leading the outdoor screening, are thrilled to bring An Indian Summer to Birmingham this year. Festival Director Jiten Anand explains:
What an incredible city to have a Bollywood film screening. We’ve worked really hard to bring An Indian Summer back to the people of Birmingham – you can expect a truly fantastic outdoor cinema experience!
A number of global and regional partners have been responsible for bringing the event together including Sony TV, Yash Raj Films and the Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District.
Jiten adds:
It takes a network of partners and a strong team to bring together an event like this. We would like to take this opportunity to publicly thank everyone for bringing a taste of India to Birmingham.
To ensure all government guidelines around Covid-19 are adhered to, event organisers at Inspiriate will guide attendees to their dedicated seating area. Attendees are encouraged to arrive 45 minutes before the film screening, allowing enough time for everyone to be seated and enjoy the entertainment on offer.
